The Anxious Overplanners Guide To Peace

Time moves slowly when you are anxious.

Every shaky breath you take is just not enough to survive.

You feel trembles in all the places that shouldn’t be trembling.

Alongside all that, you’re constantly planning to save yourself from the fear that fills those moments of anxiousness.

Who is an anxious over-planner?

If you are reading this and waiting for an answer, it’s probably you. YOU are the anxious over-planner.

And in the spirit of all honesty, so am I.

It’s certainly typical of us to prepare or plan for peace in the same way we prepare in order to combat chaos.

Step 1 on how to be calm as an anxious over-planner.

Don’t be anxious

Oh, that didn’t work?

In my experience, regardless of how much I plan I still feel extremely anxious. Even the best laid plans can often be no match for what reality offers. That is mainly what leads to the anxiousness, right? The next step would be to make a list of what you can control in the situation that you are anxious about. With our superbly set plans we are usually way better equipped than most people. So equip yourself well for what may come, practice for alternatives, and trust that the things you cannot control will work themselves out.

But more importantly, trust yourself.

Being an anxious over-planner may feel like a burden but it’s the superpower of coping mechanisms.
